The Parker Report - August 23, 2015 - 9th Installment

This is the Parker Report for the week ending August 23, 2015

No word yet on the outcome of last week's free adoption event at the Martinez shelter.
Hopefully things went well for the bunnies.

This week has been interesting.  As I mentioned last time, Parker learned to jump up on the beds since we went on vacation.  This Thursday, just after I woke up around 6:00 am, all of a sudden there was a white bunny bounding up onto my chest!  I couldn't believe he did that!  We got him to sit nice (for a couple of minutes) until he got antsy and Brad ended up going downstairs to feed him.

Forward to 5:42 am Saturday morning...
Same scenario, except I was asleep and dreaming when I had a rude awakening by a bounding bunny on my stomach.  We're both early birds, but this is ridiculous!  I'd like to at least sleep until 6:30 am on the weekend.  This time he would not sit still and wanted to eat... NOW!
Brad went down again to feed him and then came back to bed.
That day Brad went to the Good Guys car show and I stayed home and did house work.
And what did Parker do?  He slept most of the day!

Last night (Saturday) we watched a movie and went to bed before 10:00 pm (a little earlier than usual).  All was well and fine until 2:22 am when I woke up and heard the sounds of teeth gnawing on baseboard.  I got up and looked around the corner from our bedroom door and there was Parker, starting to chew on the baseboard at the top of our staircase.
I grabbed an empty toilet paper roll from our stash on the bedroom table and threw it on the floor in front of him.  He started chewing on the cardboard roll and I could now try to get back to sleep...with the sounds of munching swirling in the back of my head.

And speak of the little firball...
He's been sleeping all afternoon (probably tired out from jumping all over Brad this morning and giving him kisses (and wet Willies in his ears).  He just came into the room as I was typing this.  It's just coming up to 5:00 pm so he's getting ready for dinner.  He just went out into the guest bath to get a drink of water and go potty.

I've been watching the litter boxes closely the past few days because he had a milky looking urine in his litter box a few days ago for about three days in a row.  Brad called our regular veterinarian, Dr. Dietrich in Discovery Bay to ask him about it, but we were informed that he's unfortunately out on medical leave until October because he had shoulder surgery.  The vet tech at the office told us to keep an eye on it because it can be caused by certain foods.  We stopped giving him the alfalfa because I suspected that it might be the cause with too much protein and I guess I was correct in my hunch.  This morning I changed his litter box and the milkyness was virtually gone!  Thank goodness!

Time to go feed a hungry bunny.  Have a great week everyone!
